Purchase Xbox 360 250GB Elite Console

I'm a self-admitted intermediate/casual level gamer. I like to play games that I like which at my age (nearly 29) is becoming fewer and fewer. Recently I picked up Red Dead and LOVE IT and also Tiger Woods and will get NCAA and Madden. Suffice it to say, outside of sports games, unless it's mature it doesn't really appeal to me for the most part. I used to own the Wii (it's now at my family's house) and the PS3. I recently sold my PS3 after being totally disenchanted with the system. The controller was not to my liking, I did not like the 'triggers' at the end and blu ray, while nice ( and I have a 1080P Sony TV) was not worth the extra cost. Plus, I am moving to reduce my had movie collection and just rent on NetFlix as it's cheaper and easier. So why get this system instead?

1) The Wifi being N level - super fast. Amazing.

2) Smaller, 45 nm Valhalla chip, great heatskink

3) The controller is more of a natural fit

4) Multiplats are usually programmed to this console and ported as most people know. Also multiplats are usually brighter and more vibrant on the 360.

5) Kinect is perfect for family, friends and relationships *smile*

6) XBox Live is FAR superior to PSN

7) Batteries - convenience. I don't have to wait for the controller to charge I can just take out put in and be ready in less than 1 minute.

Any drawbacks?

Well, perhaps a few.

1) The brick - admittedly it's smaller than the previous models of the 360 but it's still there.

2) Very new so we don't know what to expect for reliability down the line. I got it TODAY and was actually the first person to buy it at my local Best Buy - the guy literally just moved the last one onto the floor while I walked in.

3) The Show and Uncharted and Folklore - 3 games I will miss. However, that is all I will miss and ultimately that is not enough since I game about 10-15 hours a week and some of that includes PC.

Other than all of this I love the way this system feels, looks, runs and plays. I know I did the right thing and am happy that it will appeal to hardcore, intermediate, casual, men, women, old, young etc. The 360 is quickly becoming a multiple entertainment system and while the PS3 also has that to a degree... Blu Ray unless you have like a 50 inch tv is really not necessary (slow and only better up close on newer movies, older movies blu rayed are overrated and not ANY different from dvd in all honesty. Anyone who says otherwise is trying to sell you magic beans. Newer ones look great up close from a distance I don't see the value. )

Will I be having a huge gaming library? No, most likely only a handful of games. But from the controller to the wifi speed to the quality of the on-line to the netflix right down to the friendliness and happy feeling I get seeing my avatar dance up when I make a selection... it's well worth the price of admission. PS3 is a quality machine, around 4 / 5. So far I think the 360 250 elite is 4.8 / 5. If any changes occur I will amend this review but as of now I am happy to be gaming on a quality system!Get more detail about Xbox 360 250GB Elite Console.
