Lowest Price Xbox 360 250GB Elite Console

I picked this up yesterday at GameStop and used it most of the day and must say it looks nice, is really, REALLY quiet, but it gets really hot...much hotter than my old 360 Pro (60GB) and I don't know if that is a good thing (i.e. it is displacing the heat and radiating the heat out of the console through the main vent on the top really, really well) or bad (i.e. it is producing more heat than it is capable of displacing in a timely manner causing it to radiate so much heat). Even when just watching Netflix it is unusually warm. I'm concerned about the possibility of an RRoD (even though the new version of the 360 is not cable of showing a Red Ring in the event of a hardware failure).

Other than that, I like the new form factor, it is much smaller, but I don't care for the piano black finish...it is a finger print magnet. Sony got smart and dumped that finish for the PS3 Slim, Microsoft should have never even considered it. The new power brick is much smaller but it is not rated for 220V (for all those who are overseas or might be going overseas you will need a transformer). The disc drive is quiet and you can't hear the fan either.

Really the only thing keeping this from being 5 stars is my concern for the heat this remake produces. I hope Microsoft put this system through rigorous testing. For all those upgrading, get the HDD transfer cable from Microsoft's website, GameStop or here on Amazon to make the switch much less painful. Transferring 30GB worth of data took me about two hours, but re-downloading all that content would have taken much longer. You can also use a USB Flash drive too, but if you have a lot of content you will be making multiple transfers as the 360 will only allow you to move 16GB on a USB stick (I believe, someone correct me if I am wrong).Get more detail about Xbox 360 250GB Elite Console.

Failure Rate unknown so its not even a PRO.

Cons

-Power Brick still pretty beastly that can kill a person from 20ft away if thrown at head.
-DISK SCRATCHES IF someone bumps on to the Table while you are playing. Its going to scratch your disk UNPLAYABLE SO DONT MOVE YOUR XBOX!@! I myself have various occasions where my xbox moves accidentally Earthquakes, Bumps, Slam the table(ONLINE RAGE!@!@) and so on..... And my jasper STILL PLAYS ON! XD

-NO HD CABLES lol at this point its embarrassing not to include such feature.
-Bundled with absolutely nothing but the console and a controller.

Btw the reason for the 1 star its because i Expected a bit more and when i get dissapointed i tend to GO LOW!@!

Xbox 360 250GB Elite Console Order Now

I am extremely picky about any hardware I use. Having owned both models of the PS3 and a few Xbox 360s (that I bought and sold over time) I have pretty high expectations. Personally I think Xbox live is much better then PSN which is why I jumped from PS3 back to Xbox. My big issue was the hardware. Microsoft took care of a big issue by allowing users to burn their games to the hard drive. However, the fan noise on my Xbox Elite was still driving me crazy. Now my Elite wasn't broken, my ears just seem to attune to the noise they make. It especially drove me crazy when playing games like Puzzle Quest or when browsing the dash board. In this case the PS3 fat and slim where hands down superior (hardware build wise). But like many a fans I put up with the crappy build quality for the sake of a better interface and of course my friends list.

Now onto the new Xbox 360. Let me just say that for once I am very proud of Microsoft. They seem to have taken all the complaints from users and fixed them. This is the system they should have released long ago. The very first thing I noticed is how silent this machine is. Even after running for over an hour you can barely hear the fan. I would go as far as to say it's even more silent then the PS3 slim (which I found to be louder then the fat model). The new Xbox has a strange but cool new look. I don't understand why people are complaining that it is a finger print magnet. How often do you really touch your system once it's in place? The buttons on the front are now touch sensitive instead of pressing them in, and make a cool noise I must say. I'm happy to say that even my disc drive is quite. It's almost as quite running a disc as the fans on my Elite were. There are no old school memory card ports, but they upped the USB ports to 5. 2 on the front and 3 in the back. The new 250GB hard drive is removable. There is a button on the right side vent that you can press and remove the plate. The hard drive is in a special case but it's easier to move. The only downside to this is the people that take their hard drives to their friends house, but this can be fixed by using a USB drive now.

The controller is pretty much the same as the Elites plus a couple changes. The bottom portion of the controller that was gray shaded is now a shiny black and the Xbox button is shiny chrome. All in all goes will with the package. The ear cushion on the headset is also now black instead of grey. Microsoft also has a picture of a black chat pad and wireless headset on the box for the new 360. I'm keeping my fingers crossed for a black controller charger.

To close, I'm extremely satisfied with my purchase. It's a worthy upgrade and one that shows Microsoft is actually listening for once. Also for those planning to get Kinect there is a dedicated port so on the new system which will let you use the camera with one less cable.Get more detail about Xbox 360 250GB Elite Console.

Xbox 360 250GB Elite Console Best Quality

Pros:

1. (Subjective) It looks better than the current XBOX360
2. It is smaller
3. It is quiet
4. It is a better value when compared to a non-bundle XBOX360 Elite with bigger HDD and Wireless-N
5. It is Kinect ready, but I bet it will be a bundle version in the future for a even better value
6. It includes a headset

Cons:
1. It is still a XBOX360 after all, just like PS3 Slim to original PS3
2. FINGER-PRINT
3. Still no HDMI cable included

Final Word:
If you have the Jasper XBOX360, then don't waste your money, otherwise, it is a good buyGet more detail about Xbox 360 250GB Elite Console.

Xbox 360 250GB Elite Console Buy Now

I actually purchased this today from Gamestop (not Amazon) but I feel posting a review here is appropriate anyway. The console is fantastic: very sleek new design, bigger HD, built in N WiFi, etc. When they say its whisper quiet they aren't exaggerating, the thing is near silent.

The main purpose of this review is to let everyone know that as long as you have an authentic XBOX 360 Transfer Cable, transferring all of your content from your previous XBOX is a breeze. The transfer software is actually built into the new XBOX 360 and doesn't require you to insert a software disc. Just plug in your old harddrive to one end of the cable and plug the other end into a USB on the new console and the transfer process will initiate automatically.

I have all three consoles (360, PS3 and the Wii) and really love all of them; its a great time to be into video games. This phenomenon of "fanboys" (both XBOX and PS3...and to a much lesser extent Wii) trolling the internet bashing the competition's products is really obnoxious, detrimental to our hobby and gives gamers a bad name. So if you see a 1-Star review of this console, or any console for that matter, read it carefully and take it with a grain of salt. Also keep in mind that this console technically hasn't been released yet (my local Gamestop got theirs in a day early) so chances are the people doling out 1-Stars probably haven't even gotten their hands on one.

Anyway, if you are thinking about upgrading, especially from a non-Elite unit, I say go for it. The latest iteration of the XBOX 360 is the best yet and should be enjoyed by everyone.Get more detail about Xbox 360 250GB Elite Console.

Xbox 360 250GB Elite Console Immediately

Btw i may give it another shot:)

Well i kept my Elite had the extra money so i decided to get this and try it out to see if i wanted to sell my Elite to my lil nephew who wants and Xbox. Plugged it in started downloading my online games, froze up around 90% on Trials HD. I proceeded to hit all the buttons on the controller(which had a lose piece of something making noise on the inside of it), went up hit the button to shut it down, nothing, so i unplugged it back in. Felt the system it was blazing(note:i have a totally open entertainment system with my HD TV, PS3, etc. not a thing closed in. Upon plugging the system back in the power pack was also extremely hot, then guess what? You guessed it, red light came on, and no power no nothing for the whole system. I'v seen some things about the system having the red light when you power up the system but it wouldnt even beep to turn on, NOTHING!. I work on computers for a living and am stunned that something straight out of the box could fry so quickly. My thought is that the brick itself isn't running enough power, or the +/- going through the system power supply is blowing out, for what reason? I have no clue. The only other thing i know is with all the new system ventilation your more likely to get extreme Static Discharge on your unit, so definitely do not set it on any kind of plush carpet or touch it if you feel a slight bit of static shock on anything around it. Thats really the only thing i can think of at the moment that could be the issue, i don't bother with tech support i just took it back and they gave me a full refund. They said usually they don't but they were actually expecting problems, so they are making exceptions. Good thing i didnt trade my Elite, i've had 0 problems with it from day one. Love xbox but i guess there are still touchy issues, which is expected with a new system. Also have a PS3 0 problems, so i think its just luck of the draw here. All the computer issues i see with dust, cat hair, ever pure dirt clocking up ventilation, power supplies, fans etc. it seems electronics just aren't made like they use to be. 35 year old man here, so no kids i'm not your fan boy dork, or some TROLL teen as the kids say. Whatever that means. So just be careful with this one.

UPDATE:I'd like to add that, If your old enough to remember, nintendos(original) and ataris, they took so much beating and lasted forever. Also stereos, even older computers took a LOT more abuse and lasted a long long time as well. Technology is becoming a very advanced process, much different from the old days, more power, more speed, and a more vast array of visuals are just stunning the world now, so it stands to reason the new stuff has trouble. Also your packing the power of a large desktop computer into a small compact unit, so yes there will be heat, and other issues as well with so much in something so small. Just like laptops will never beat a desktop for gaming, same reason, size, and they have the same issues. So hopefully it will get rectified, as i said love Xbox, just got a lemon.

Xbox 360 250GB Elite Console This instant

Let me just start off by saying I was skeptical about this item. I already have an Xbox 360 so I figured I didn't need to upgrade, but I did anyways and boy was I surprised.

First off, this console is considerably smaller than the previous Xbox 360s. The power button is touch sensitive, which I also thought was very cool. It comes with a 250 gb hard drive which is the largest out there but the hard drive itself is also considerably smaller than the other hard drives. It is also inside the console instead of outside. The built in WiFi works much better than the wireless adapters, I've had no lag so far and no connection issues whatsoever. Another great characteristic of this is that it has 5 USB ports, 2 in the front and 3 in the back. One of my favorite things about this is that it is almost silent. If the room is silent and you are more than 3 feet away you can't hear it, which is spectacular compared to previous models.

Overall this console is a must have. It is well worth the $300.00.

This will go well with Kinect when it comes out this November.Get more detail about Xbox 360 250GB Elite Console.

Xbox 360 250GB Elite Console Review

I dont know where to ask this, so i decided to just post it here. Alright so i literally just bought a new Xbox 360 120GB Elite from Walmart last Thursday because my old Xbox that Ive had for over 3 years broke. Then on Monday i was watching the coverage from E3 and they announced the new Xbox 360 250GB Elite. Should i return my new 120GB Elite for this new one? I'm a little worried to do so just because I don't want to loose all my memory of my games and things Ive bought on Xbox Live because theres no adapter to switch over the memory. What should I do?Get more detail about Xbox 360 250GB Elite Console.

Shop For Xbox 360 250GB Elite Console

I got mine from gamestop today. It's nice and sleek and super quiet. Touch sensitives buttons and the angular design provides for a modern look. It's the same price as the other bundles now so with integrated WiFi N (fastest available) it's perfect. The optical audio that's on there now without the adapter is helpful as well. There is no reason not to love this product. Same price, cooler, quieter, less power consumption, modern, bigger hard drive, wifi, kinect ready, optical out, 5 usb ports, sleek, and sexy.

Where To Buy Xbox 360 250GB Elite Console

A regular xbox costs $250 it has a 120 GB HD and no wifi, and very noisy. Why spend money on that elite when you can get this one which has a 250GB HD($129) and Built in wifi(Adapter=99$) all in one for 300$? It's a steal. I'm giving it 5 stars because of the price alone. I sold my son's old 60GB Pro Xbox, and we're gonna get this one. He can finally put it in his room, and we don't have to purchase more hard drives because we buy alot of stuff on Xbox live. 250GBs is more then enough. Not only that, but it's kinect ready so when we do get it. It'll save us even more money.

If you're about to buy an xbox, get this one.

If you need a wifi adapter and more hard drive space on your xbox, sell it and buy this one.

Great price. Great console overall.Get more detail about Xbox 360 250GB Elite Console.

Cheap Xbox 360 250GB Elite Console

It seems like Microsoft tries to sell you a new Xbox 360 every 3 months. No matter. It is still Xbox 360. Except times have changed.

Games are getting bigger. 3D televisions are starting to appear in stores for sale. The competition, namely, the PS3 is providing better and better value.

Reasons why this Xbox 360 deserves only 1 star:

1)Xbox 360 still uses DVD drives. Games are getting bigger and Xbox 360's DVD drive space has proven a limiting factor in terms of how much content developers are willing to put onto the disk.

2)Xbox 360 still uses a much weaker processor than the PS3. Xbox 360 is simply an aging console no matter what versions Microsoft keeps coming up with. As such:
a. you will not be able to play games that look the best.
b. You can't play games that sound the best.
c. You can't play LARGE multi-player shooting games(64 to 256 players).
d. To do all of the above you need the PS3.

3)Xbox 360 still charges you to play online. Even if you only want to play online once in a while. Even if the PC, the PS3, Wii, DS, PSP, etc. all allow for free on-line game play. Microsoft is showing corporate greed in its purest form.

4)Xbox 360 totally lacks any (decent) games in the following genres:
a. Play-create-share. PS3 has LittleBigPlanet and ModNation Racers
b. Massively Muliplayer Games. PS3 will let you play Free Realms, The Agency, DC Universe, Final Fantasy14, etc. this year or next.

5)Xbox 360 doesn't allow you to watch Youtube. In fact, you can't surf the web with Xbox 360. You can do 'em all with the PS3.

6)Xbox 360 still can't play Blu-ray movies. The PS3 lets you watch thousands of Blu-ray movies.

7)Xbox 360 won't support stereoscopic 3D in any meaningful way. So, as an Xbox 360 owner you basically can't watch 3D movies or play 3D games. With the PS3 you can, real soon.

8)Xbox 360 lacks enough 1st and 2nd party support to compete with the PS3. Google and compare PS3 exclusives to Xbox 360 exclusives. You will see that PS3 exclusives are more varied and look/sound/play more technologically advanced. Also, the PS3 has the two most critically exclaimed HD exclusives, LittleBigPlanet and Uncharted 2.

9)Xbox 360 is a very closed console when it comes to developer flexibility. As such, PS3 owners, not Xbox 360's, can download mods, upload saves, etc. to a central, third-party server. Because of Xbox 360's closed nature and PS3's openness, Valve has recently decided to bring Steam to the PS3, which is a very big deal.

10)Xbox 360 lacks any meaningful support for hard-core, motion-controlled games. Microsoft's Kinect is designed for quick, casual games that make it hard for you to sit down and play longer than half-an hour at a time .

11) Higher cost of ownership. Owners of Xbox 360 are more likely to pay higher costs for on line game play, hard disk drives, and controller batteries.

12) Microsoft has a history of abandoning Xbox supporters. Examples:
a. Microsoft released Xbox 360 when the first Xbox was merely 4 years old. Original Xbox 1 owners were left in the cold, unable to receive any meaningful support in terms of new games.
b. Xbox 360 owners who wanted to watch disk-based HD movies were encouraged to buy the Xbox 360 HD-DVD add-ons. However, once Blu-ray won, these Xbox 360 owners were left in the cold. Despite changing Xbox 360 hardware several times, Microsoft simply won't Blu-ray, which has the best versions of in home movies, better than HD downloads, satellite, or cable.
c. To attract Wii gamers, Microsoft has decided to adopt a motion-control technology that is anti-hard core. So, all the Xbox 360 owners looking to play hard-core, motion-controlled games are left in the cold.

So, in this day and age, so late in Xbox 360's lifespan, why buy a console that is aging, unable to compete with the competition in terms of graphics, sound, multi-player size, Blu-ray movies, 3D movies, 3D games, massively multi-player games, play-share-create games, hard-core motion-control, etc.

What I have written will not please everyone, but I challenge you to do your own research. When you do so with an open mind, you will see that the faults I have listed for Xbox 360 are legitimate.Get more detail about Xbox 360 250GB Elite Console.

Buy Xbox 360 250GB Elite Console

If you were holding off on buying a xbox 360, there has never been a better time to buy one.

this new model addresses every single thing which has plagued the previous Xbox360 consoles.

The internal components have been completely redesigned, the processors have been reduced down to 30% to 45nm and integrated into a single chip meaning considerably less energy consumption and heat.

In addition the cooling has been drastically improved with a much more efficient and whisper quiet fan.

It doesn't stop there this console now has wifi-N built in, the fastest wifi technology currently (other consoles use wifi-G/B)

then you have the huge 250GB hard drive which is a ton of space if you want to download any content or save games, or want the option to install games for improved performance.

they've even improved the aesthetics of the console, it now sports a glossy black finish and shiny chrome trim. And now the power and eject buttons are touch activated. The overall size of the console has also been reduced about 20%.

Save Xbox 360 250GB Elite Console

Ok well first off, I would like to say that the NEW XBOX 360 Slim is a way better looking XBOX 360 than any other! It's black, chromed, (glossed) (gives off reflection) and it has a sweet textured fan openings on the sides. The XBOX 360 Slim is a curved shape XBOX on the middle sides. This XBOX 360 is also a 250 GB (Giga-Bytes) hard-drive which is SWEET! There are SO many things you can do with a memory amount of 250 GB! For people who already have an XBOX 360 hard-drive, you have 2 options.

1) If you have access to XBL, (XBOX LIVE) you can recover your account and re-download EVERYTHING again which is a MAJOR pain.

2) Get a hard-drive transfer data system to transfer ALL your hard-drive data to the new 250GB Hard Drive. These are the time limits it will take to transfer all your data:

If you have a 20GB hard-drive, the estimated time to transfer ALL your data is LESS than 2 hours depending how much data you used! EX) If you used 20GB (ALL) of memory, it will take 2 hours or maybe less.

If you have a 60GB hard-drive, the estimated time to transfer ALL your data is less than 6 hours depending how much data you used! EX) If you used 60GB (ALL) of memory, it will take 6 hours or maybe less.

If you have a 120GB hard-drive, the estimated time to transfer ALL your data is less than 12 hours depending how much data you used! EX) If you used 120GB (ALL) of memory, it will take 12 hours or maybe less.

If you have a 250GB hard-drive, the estimated time to transfer ALL your data is less than 25 hours depending how much data you used! EX) If you used 250GB (ALL) of memory, it will take 25 hours or maybe less.

OTHER EXAMPLES

If you have a 120GB hard-drive and you used 20GB of the memory, it will take 2 hours or less.
If you have a 60 GB hard-drive and you used 10GB of the memory, it will take 1 hour or less.
If you have a 250 GB hard-drive and you used 45GB or the memory, it will take about 4.5 hours or less.

The new XBOX 360 also smaller than the regular XBOX 360 Arcade, PRO, Elite, and other editions. It also has a built in WiFi hard-ware unlike other XBOX 360's. The XBOX Dashboard of the new XBOX 360 Slim is the same thing as a regular XBOX 360. (Any Edition) The gameplay will be the same no matter what. The New XBOX 360 Slim is also whisper silent unlike other XBOX 360's which make a lot of sound when they are turned on! (Haha Get it) OK so no more jokes! Also if you are an HD die-hard like me, DON'T think the new XBOX 360 Slim comes with HD components or an HDMI cable. Also the XBOX 360 Slim DOES NOT have games to come with. The new XBOX has a Black XBOX 360 controller like the XBOX 360 Elite. Unlike the Elite's controller, this one has a silky, shiny, and chromed silver XBOX Guide button in the middle of the controller. (THE BIG GREEN X BUTTON) Also the XBOX 360 Slim comes with a black wired microphone for XBL (XBOX LIVE) chat. The new XBOX 360 Slim has a 1 Year Warranty. Also the new XBOX 360 Slim DOES scratch disks if you move the XBOX 360 Slim up and down or tilt it and this counts for EVERY other XBOX 360's too!

That is all for you. This new slim version of the XBOX 360 is amazing and its worth the price. The retail price is $299.99 like the regular XBOX 360 Pro. I give the Slim XBOX 360 4/5 rating. That is all the facts for this product. Thank you for reading and have a nice day.Get more detail about Xbox 360 250GB Elite Console.

Discount Xbox 360 250GB Elite Console

Yes, it's glossy, quiet, and comes with a 250GB hard drive. The kicker (and really about 80% of why you would buy this) is the built in WiFi which lets you circumvent buying an adapter ($70-100) or bootlegging your connection through a laptop. If you've had a 360 for a few years now and you've got cash to blow, go for it. If you don't have one now because it broke, or if you're considering buying your first 360, I'd still recommend the black Elite bundle that's still available (as of this review). It's $250 versus $300 and comes with 2 stellar games (Halo: ODST and Forza Motorsport 3) - roughly an $80 value, so essentially you're getting the machine, WITH two titles, AND saving $50+$80=$130, which actually covers the cost of that adapter and then some. So just ask yourself: Is the gloss & wifi really worth $130 extra? By the way, there is no difference at all in performance between the two machines. If you already have a 360, you probably ought to wait for this one to get bundled with something and/or your current machine to break.Get more detail about Xbox 360 250GB Elite Console.

Low Price Xbox 360 250GB Elite Console

Ignore the hate reviews for this new edition of the Xbox 360. Some people are just immature. Anyway as a 3 year owner of the original xbox 360 I have to say that this refresh is awesome. Bigger harddrive, Wifi N, Quieter, all very nice. I understand that the PS3 had all this stuff but they incorporated it all too soon and because of that they are trailing in the console wars (one of the reasons). Don't get me wrong, the PS3 is a great system but out of all the consoles the xbox 360 had the most impressive 2010 E3 conference (Nintendo was 2nd).

Kinect is definetely the most versatile piece of motion technology I have ever seen incorporated into a system. Sure it is mimicing what others periphirals have done in the past but Kinect will be able to surpass these.

Also ESPN, First to get Call of Duty Maps, and a strong number of amazing titles make it the best system currently available. I love my PS3 but I'm not going to pretend like its the best system right now. It has the potential but Sony needs to get more innovative if it ever expects to beat the Xbox 360.Get more detail about Xbox 360 250GB Elite Console.

Lowest Price Xbox 360 250GB Elite Console

The new Xbox 360 redesign is slimmer, quieter, sleeker, has built in Wireless N, and has a 250GB hard drive. It is not a new console, and is not any spectacular leap for Xbox. This is simply a better Xbox 360. First off, the console looks great. It is much smaller than the current model, and has a really nice black glossy finish (although fingerprints show up a lot easier). The buttons are now touch sensitive rather than physical buttons. It is also, as said by Microsoft, "whisper quiet". Unlike the current model, this one doesn't sound like a jet engine when running, and allows it to be practically unnoticed, a big plus when watching movies. It also has built in Wireless N Wifi, which adds a significant value to this console, as the current adapters Microsoft sells are in the $70-$100 range. They also added a 250GB internal hard drive, which is removable, but NOT compatible with current 360's. If you are looking to upgrade, you are going to have to transfer all of your stuff from the old Xbox to the new one using USB drives (this 360 does not have memory unit slots, just USB). The console is also Kinect ready, and includes a specific port for Kinect when it launches this November. This port supplies the Kinect camera with power and the connection to the Xbox, whereas otherwise you would have to plug in Kinect to the wall for power AND the Xbox for the connection.

Bottom line, if you don't have a 360 and want to make the jump, this is the time to do it. If you have a 20GB 360 or a console that's giving you problems (overheating etc.), I would say you should look at upgrading. If you have a fairly newer 360 model, I think you should just hold off.Get more detail about Xbox 360 250GB Elite Console.

Xbox 360 250GB Elite Console Decide Now

Note the day that this is being written Tuesday June 15th 2010. So I only know as much as has been put out. [...]

I noticed a few things.
1. No Blu-ray.
(When my xbox 360 dies I'll go to sony when the next gen consoles come out, just like Netflix has become a standard (optional) service on all the consoles, the ability to play Blu-ray disc should mandatory piece of included hardware by now.)

2. Looks like they might be doing away with Memory Units.
(The thing is so black I can't see the front connections clearly.)

3. Only HDMI connections.
(Sorry I don't have a grand or two to fork over for a new TV.)

4. No sense or details on if a hard drive transfer can occur between the old xbox 360 hard drives and the new one which looks like flash memory.

5. If you don't have an xbox 360 get this one. If you have one and it still works save your money and time and wait for the next generation.

On the upside this should have been the Xbox Elite a few years ago. I don't understand the rational of flooding the market with what now six different consoles. At some point any product reaches saturation. So unless my Xbox dies I see no need for a new or another console until the next gen consoles come out.Get more detail about Xbox 360 250GB Elite Console.

I thought there was nothing wrong with the latest version of the old Xbox 360 design (jasper chip). I guess people wanted to visually see that the new Xbox 360 would not get the infamous red ring of death problem. Or Microsoft wants more money. Either way the new Slim is a must. There's no rip off here. Plus the Slim is sexy!

-I guess having an interal HDD isn't bad considering that people would want to travel with this Slim. You can also upgrade this HDD, but the reality of it is you don't need to. I installed 10 games to my own 250GB HDD and didn't fill half the space yet. Each game is approx. 5-10GB in size. I suggest you install all your games. You get faster load times and even if the disk gets scratched and the game is installed, it will still be playable.

-A quiet fan means no more worrying about playing an epic game without having the fans to bother you! It may also mean you don't have to buy the wacky intercoolers that 3rd party companies will devolop in time.

-Built in Wi-Fi is the big one here, and of course it's built in with wireless N! There will also be an ethernet port on the Slim, but I find that Wireless N is faster than wired connection for some routers. Ironically, you can buy a wireless-N router that's 100 bucks on Amazon. Netgear WNHDEB111-100NAS Wireless N Access Point. I got suckered into buying an N wireless adapter for the old Xbox 360 that is 80-100 bucks that would connect via USB.

And then of course you get the Wireless Controller and a headset for online gaming. I saw the reviews on the headset if you were to buy it separately and saw the reviews had awful ratings. I find that the headset can be snapped in half easily and even worse is the microphone being too sensitive. I would suggest you buy these headsets instead and save the ones included for, let's say, a friend's headset breaks. Xbox 360 Over Ear Headset They are quality brand & product. I own it. Great packaging.

And the last thing is that this comes with regular composite cables. Don't be a wimp! Since you're already saving tons of money buying the Slim, you should buy an HDMI cable. If you have an HDTV without HDMI, then you're forced to use the official Xbox 360 Component cables. Here's is an HDMI cable that is under 10 dollars with more than 2,500 reviews; 4.5 stars. HDMI TO HDMI 6 foot cable In Best Buy, you'll be buying a 4 foot HDMI for 50 bucks! And both of the cables work the same way!

The one thing I found rather weird looking at multiple pictures of the Slim was the ventilation fans on the side of the 360. So now air is coming out of the sides instead of the back of the console now...? Please comment on this topic.

---edit---

1) As it seems it's not called the Xbox 360 Slim. Wikipedia simply calls it as "S".

2) Cool, now there's touch sensitive buttons for ejecting the disk tray and such. Ironic how Sony throws that idea off with their Slim version whereas Microsoft wants touch sensitive now.
